Resort Chef is a 'starter' product. It's designed to perform most of the basic recipe costing functions, generate market lists from menus, and to be very simple to use.
Resort Chef's HTML based user interface makes browsing and editing your recipes just like surfing the net.
The program's simplicity and feature list make it ideal for anybody who's fairly new to computing and wants an inexpensive way to get into recipe cost control. The program is also an ideal starting point for student chefs.
Resort Chef will run on Microsoft Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Main Features.
HTML user interface. Resort Chef? unique HTML based user interface makes browsing your recipes very much like surfing the World Wide Web. Each ingredient and recipe is displayed in it? own web page which are all automatically generated by the program. Just click the various links in the pages to perform editing actions on your recipe information.
Multiple Themes. The program ships with a number of standard ?hemes? which let you change the look and feel of the program with a few mouse clicks. More themes are available for free download from the downloads
Multiple databases. Resort Chef uses Microsoft Access format databases and you can create as many separate databases as you wish, with no effective limit to the number of ingredients or recipes stored in any one database.
Recipe Costing. Resort Chef uses the same tried and tested core recipe-costing technology as it? larger sibling programs to let you perform the full range of recipe costings. Change any aspect of a recipe and the program immediately updates the recipe? cost, price, food cost percentage, markup, etc.
Recipe scaling. Scale recipe ingredient portions to any quantity from a base recipe.
Nested recipes. Include one recipe as a sub-recipe in another recipe. Recipes can be nested in this fashion as deeply as you wish.
Import pictures into ingredients and recipes. Resort Chef supports full 32bit graphic technology to store pictures of recipes and ingredients. Jpeg, Gif, Bmp, and Png files can be imported.
Menus & market lists. Use your recipes to build menus and then extend the menu to get a full market list, listing all ingredient requirements for the menu.
Global Find/Replace. Use Resort Chef? Replacement Wizard to quickly and easily replace one ingredient with another in all recipes.
Import/Export recipes. Exchange recipes with your colleagues. There are already several web sites offering free recipe downloads for Resort Software products, and you can download these recipes straight into your own databases. Resort Chef also supports importing recipes in Meal Master and MasterCook MX2 format. There are literally thousands of Meal Master and MasterCook format recipes available on the internet.
Database compatibility. Resort Chef features full database compatibility with other Resort Software recipe management products. Should you wish to upgrade to another product in the future, you need make no changes to your data at all. Just open your existing database with the other program and youre away.
